Judicial Milestones

The Supreme Court has been morphed and molded by cases from every end of every spectrum. Certain principles were established when the Court was just an infant, such as the fact that the federal courts will only determine cases and refrain from simply answering legal questions.  Other principles, however, are results of landmark cases that put both court and federal government jurisdictions in new perspectives. These include Marbury v. Madison (1801), McCulloch v. Maryland (1819), and Plessy v. Ferguson (1896), and Brown v. Board of Education of Topeka (1954).
